Here at Protograph we are experts in taking native Rhino files and importing them into our own visualization software – we don’t use Flamingo or another Rhino plug-in! We then add realistic materials and lighting to the model, so we can render it on our substantial render farm. We can process even the most complex Rhino files and render them with ease. We have developed this process over the last 5 years and it provides one of the very few routes where huge CAD data sets can be rendered without the need for extensive data conversion into polygons, which is time consuming – and time is money! We keep your data in its original form throughout the whole process.

Don’t worry about simplifying your model for us at render stage. We take full manufacturing sets of data and turn them into marketing images. In fact we prefer all detail to be modeled in, rather than created through tricks at the render stage. If you have a grill with thousands of holes in it, let’s have the data – file size is not an issue for us.

Working with Protograph is simple. There’s no need to convert your Rhino file - just send it along with some cameras set up with the views you’d like and it helps to organize your design onto layers for each material used in the scene, this saves us a lot of time and you a lot of cost.

Protograph will always generate a test render for you to approve before we render the final image.

To make your Rhino renders look totally real, we urge clients to model in all the little details like tiny radii on edges. These help to catch the light and make the Rhino rendering look more realistic. It is very rare to see any mass produced parts that are molded with totally hard edges without any radii. You will definitely see the difference.
